Annie Hall opening monologue

Tarde o temprano debería empezar a hablar de Woody, y no hay mejor forma que con el monólogo con el que abre Annie Hall. Se puede decir que con esta escena comienza su etapa madura con lo que esto supone para la historia del cine. Durante la película rompe con todas las reglas establecidas mezclando monólogos, personajes que hablan a cámara y regresiones en el tiempo; reflejando de esta forma todo el caos que supone un reflexión como esta sobre la vida y las relaciones personales. Al que no la haya visto espero que esta entrada le anime a ello, y para el que ya la haya visto Manhattan es otra joya por descubrir, no tan fresca pero con los mismos ingredientes.

Sometime I should start to talk about Woody, and I think there’s not better way than the Annie Hall opening monologue. We can say this scene is the beggining of his mature phase, with all that this suppose for the films history. Along the movie he breaks all the rules and regulations mixing monologues, characters speaking to the camera and flashbacks, giving to the movie the caotic character of this reflexion about life and relationships. For the people who didn’t watch yet, I hope this starting scene encourage them to do it; and for those who already watched I think Manhattan is another caotic great story, not so refreshed but with the same ingredients.
